A child's eye view

I recently bought a very expensive new Digital SLR camera. Of course I don't have a clue how to really use it. My 7-year-old asked if he could have my old 2-pixel Olympus so I told him yes.

Last night he went around the house taking pictures. When I downloaded them to my laptop I was amazed at how well he did. Even more amazing was how he staged some of the shots.

Here's the sad thing -- His pictures are better than any I take.

Kids are great artists, given the right tools. There's been an explosion of kid photography, for exactly the same reason - the parents upgrade the digi-cam and give the old one to the kids, and now they can snap pictures to their heart's content without having to pay for developing or film and with instant results. They love it.

He's a good photographer, but I'm thinking you just need to see with his eyes a little to be as good as him... ;-)

Noodle! These are great. What a good little hobby for him. I'd love to see more.

Well, so would I! I hope you'll be posting more of his "gallery" soon! ;-)
