I left my heart in San Francisco

Ever heard the quote "The coldest Winter I ever spent was a summer in San Francisco."

Well it was cold out here today. I am on a two week business trip and I am having a blast. I love San Francisco. The first few days were really nice. In fact, Saturday was beautiful. But it started to get cold yesterday and today was gray and chilly. It's funny that it is hot as hell in North Carolina and I am wearing winter clothes out here.

I have posted some pictures of my trip and I will be adding more soon. Check them out.

Alone or Lonely, You Decide

I am in a strange mindset tonight. I have been down-in-the-dumps all day and really have no motivation to do anything productive. I am not sure if I like being alone or if I am feeling blue because I am lonely.

For the last hour I have been going through four years of Twinkie's Flickr pictures. I ran across some of old friends and former Karaoke buddies and they made me smile. The strange thing is Twinkie and I have known each other for 8 years and there are no pictures of us together. I guess it's because we know to never leave evidence.

Anyway It's interesting to see how we have all changed (and in my case aged) over the past few years.

This is a picture of me and Tam before I moved to NC and then 4 years later.

Two road trips and a funeral

What started off as a trip to Florida to see a close friend ended up being two weeks on the road and stays in multiple cities.

Unfortunately H3's mother passed away but it also meant that our family was all together for a few days. We also got to visit the 'ville and hang out with a few friends.

I have uploaded some pictures from the trip.

That's what I am talking about!

Last night myself, Megmonster and my daughter-in-law Ulli dropped the guys off to see "Iron Man" and then "the girls" went to explore nightlife in downtown Nashville. Ulli is from Germany and she wanted to see some of the downtown Nashville sites. While we were walking around Broadway, we spotted a Karaoke bar on Music row and I talked the girls into getting on stage. I explained to Ulli that since she was visiting from Germany she had to be able to tell her family and friends that she sang on stage in the heart of Nashville. We rocked the place with a great Joan Jett number.

When we were walking around, Megmonster wanted to show us Painter's Alley. She failed to tell me that it was a little on the seedy side. But I was speechless when I stumbled upon this little bit of Karaoke heaven (or maybe hell) in that strange little alley.

It's hard to explain but I think this picture with Ulli and Meg explains it all.

I feel like a ghost

The people around me don't really see me. If they did how could they continue to do things that break my spirit and make me feel that I have no worth.

Today I just wanted to jump on a plane and go where no one knows me. I know that's not the answer but it's very tempting.

How easy is it to completely vanish?
