Can someone please find my personality
I don't even recognize myself anymore. I never go out, I go to bed early, I worry about following the rules, I rarely watch reality TV, I wear socks every day, I worry that my cleavage may show. Who the hell am I?
Maybe my perception of who I was (party girl, loved to take chances and have fun) is not who I really was, but I have no clue who I am now.
Tonight I was complainig to H3 about the fact that we have lived here for 16 months and I still have zero friends. I mentioned that this was the first time in my life that I have not had a group of girls that I could hang out with. For God's sake the only movies I have been to are kid flicks.
H3 looked at me and said "You didn't have any friends in Louisville except Twinkie."
WTF???
Okay so Twinkie might have been my number one partner in crime (and my greatest support system) but I had lots of friends. Of course, I reminded him that before I met him I had many more, but they seemed to drop off after he came into my life.
Being a hermit sucks, but being a hermit and being married to a DND addicted curmudgeon is hell.

bad blogger
I know I have totally neglected all of you and I am sorry. There are so many things I need to share with you all but I just can't find the time to write it all down. I promise to get caught up soon.
For now I will leave you this link to check out some of the pictures from our fabulous trip to D.C. We had such a great time that I can't wait to go back.

More pictures of the trip will follow in the next week or two.

One year later
I decided to look at my Fourth of July post from 2005 to see how much things had changed in the past year.
* I am 25 pounds lighter this year (No I have not been on a diet and I really don't know how, but I am not complaining)
* We still have the little pool in the back yard but we did not get in it today. We did buy a solar cover so it feels more like bath water when we do get in.
* The kid is still eating hamburgers (with lots of steak sauce) but he has not added any new foods (that I can think of) to his menu this year.
* Because I am reading bi-monthly issues of Cottage Living (thanks Twinkie -- best present ever) I have come to believe that our house is not a tiny shack but a cute and charming cottage.
* We drove all of 1/2 mile to the river to watch the "Mayberry" fireworks again this year. It was unbelievably humid and hot, so we were glad when it was over. It did not seem as charming as it did last year. I guess the "cute" factor has worn off.
* I don’t miss the ‘ville as much as I did last July. I do miss certain people though.
The day was really very anti-climatic. I should have taken Monday off, so it would have been a long weekend. I didn't because I have taken so much time off lately with visiting my family at the beach and all the doctor visits.
What did we do? I decided to rearrange the furniture in our cute cottage bedroom to see if I could gain any space. I should quit kidding myself.
While H3 took the kid to tutoring, I reorganized the drawers that hold all of his clothes. Of course this irritated him.
H3 slept a good portion of the day while I reorganized and moved furniture which was good for me because he always gripes when I want to change things.
The kid is just like H3 when it comes to change. He hates it. Two years ago we bought a new refrigerator and he cried for days about how much he loved the old broken down fridge. He begged us to save it so he could use it to build a robot.
Today I took an upholstered side chair out of my bedroom to make more space and the kid has whined about how much he loves that chair all day. He even suggested that I move it into his room. Of course his room is smaller than ours and has zero available space. Plus the chair is this 1970 feminine chintz chair that would look stupid in a 7-year-old boy’s room. I can't believe he is that upset that it's going in the attic.
The next week should be interesting. Megmonster is driving down Thursday and she is bringing her dude guy. We are all driving to Washington DC on Friday and will spend the next four days playing tourist. I hope we have a good time.

Selmer, Tennessee -- enter at your own risk
Does anyone else find the following quote from this CNN article very strange?
"What would cause a godly woman to do such a thing?" asked neighbor Sharon Everitt, echoing the question that has hung over the rural town since late March. "Christians don't shoot Christians."
Silly me, I thought the Ten Commandments said "Thou shall not kill" not Thou shall not kill other Christians.
